AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Chapter 6 of Title 18 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965 as amended, relating to
Health Regulations titled Meat and Food Inspection-Eating and
Drinking Establishments, by repealing its current provisions and
adopting the Uniform Salt Lake City-County Health Department Revised
Ordinance and Code Regulations, Food Service Establishments, 1978
Edition and ADDING Sections 18-6-2 and 18-6-3.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 6 of Title 18 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965 as amended, relating to Health Regula-
tions titled Meat and Food Inspection-Eating and Drinking Establish-
ments, be, and the same hereby is repealed in its entira+.y:
SECTION 2. That the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah,
1965 as amended, hereby ADOPTS as the ordinances, rules, and regulations
of said city, the Uniform Salt Lake City-County Health Department
Revised Ordinance and Code Regulating Food Service Establishments,
1978 Edition; three copies of which code shall be filed for use and
examination by the public in the office of the recorder of Salt Lake
City.
SECTION 3. That the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah,
1965 as amended, hereby ADDS to Chapter 6 of Title 18, a new Section
18-6-2 and a new Section 18-6-3 to read as follows:
Sec. 18-6-2. Authority to prescribe rules and
regulations. The Salt Lake City-County Health
Department is authorized to prescribe such rules
and regulations to carry out the purpose of this
act as it may deem necessary for the protection
of life and public health.
Sec. 18-6-3. Violation of any of the rules and
regulations adopted by the Health Department to
carry out the purpose of this act shall be punished
with the same penalties prescribed in Section 100-
13-601 of the Uniform Ordinances, a copy of which
is on file in the Salt Lake City Recorder's Office.
SECTION 4. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of
the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become
effective immediately.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of issioners of Salt Lake Cit Utah,
