it An ordinance amending and re-enacting Section 470 of the Revised
Ordinanoes of Salt Lake City of 1903.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 470 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City of 1903, be, and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted
_ so as, read as follewb:
"-470. VAGRANCY, ;Every person, except an Indian, without
Visible means of living, who has the physical ability to work,
and who does not for the period of ten days seek employment, nor
labor when employment is-offered him;
Every healthy beggar who solicits alms as a business;
Every person who roams about from piano to place without
any lawful business;
Every idle or dissolute person, or associate of known
thieves, who wanders about the streets at late or unusual hours
of the night, it who lodges in any barn, shed, shop, outhouse,
vessel, or pines other than such as is kept for lodging purposes,
without the permission of the owner or party entitled to the
possession thereof;
Every woman who from doorways, on the streets, or any other
place, solicits men for immoral purposes; every common prostitute;
and every oommon drunkard, is a vagrant.
It shall be unlawful for any person to be a vagrant within
the limits of Salt Lake City.
SECTION E. All ordinances and resolutions or parte of ordinance
Iand resolutions in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed to the exte t
lof such conflict.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
