Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
within the district bounded on the north by the south side of
Sunnyside Avenue, on the east by the center line of Section 9,
Township 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, on the
south by the south side of Yale Avenue, and on the west by the west
side of Thirteenth East Street, in Paving Districts Nos. 27 and 32,
for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering
(where curb and gutter or gutter is not already constructed) , con
struoting drainage system, installing water services, and paving
certain streets in said dilbtriots.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Districts Noe. 27
and 32, for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and
guttering, constructing drainage system, installing water services,
and paving thereof, to-wit:

This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
and guttering with cement (where curb and gutter or gutter is not
already constructed) , constructing drainage system to oarry water
across streets and intersections, installing water services, and
paving with bitulitbtio pavement (said pavement to be forty-four
(44) feet between curbs on Ninth South and Fifteenth East Streets
(curb and gutter already built) ; thirty-six (36) feet between curb:
on Fairview Avenue (curb and gutter already built) ; and forty (40)
feet between curbs on Michigan Avenue (curb already built on lout.
side of Michigan Avenue) ; and all of said bitulithic pavement to
have four (4) inch bituminous macadam foundation and two (2) inch
top) , the portions of said streets opposite the property herein-
before and hereinafter described to be especially affeoted and
benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, deter-
mined and established that said property will be especially bene-
fited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at en equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portio a
of said streets, fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25)
feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed

upon said parcels of land is forty-two thousand seven hundred
fifty-nine and 65/100 (442,759.65) dollars; twenty-six thousand
nine hundred sixty-seven and 19/100 (Z26,967.19) dollars, or four
and 54/100 (44.54) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property for forty-four foot roadway (curb and gutter built) , ther=
being 5939.91 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; aixt,-
four hundred seventy-one and 30/100 (46471.30) dollars, or four
and 66/100 (04.66) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property for thirty-six foot roadway (curb and gutter built) , ther-
being 1388.69 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; fort -
four hundred eighty-eight and 29/100 (44488.29) dollars, or five
end 78/100 (45.78) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property for forty foot roadway (curb built) , there being 776.52
feet abutting said portion of said improvement; forty hundred
forty-five and 37/100 (44045.37) dollars, or six end 13/100 (46.131
dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for forty
foot roadway (curb and gutter not built) , there being 659.93 feet
abutting said portion of said improvement; and seven hundred eight.-
seven and 50/100 (4787.50) dollars for water services, or ten and
50/100 (410.50) dollars for each water service, there being 75
water services, the oost of the construction of which and the
property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, all within the
boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in sai•
districts, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said
improvement, eeoording to the contract entered into for the per-
formance of said work and making said improvement, with P. J. More. ,
Contractor, Incorporated, dated the 25th day of August, 1915, and
the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax'for the payment for suoh
improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years afte•
said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there
of in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one
tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effecti'<;
one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes
effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordina.no=
becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the orde
in shioh they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid
at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the
levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event
of any installment, or the interest aforesaid not being paid on

the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax
unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall
become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of
eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed;
provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are
payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and in-
terest to said date.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
