AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAB. and for the assessment of pro-
perty in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 357) for the
purpose of constructing a sewer.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah.
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Balt Lake
City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No.
2 (Sewer Extension No. 357) for the purpose of constructing a sewer,
to-wit:
In Lots 1 to 24 ir_cl. and 33 to 52 incl. of Blk. 2,
Hunter's Sub. of Blk. 52; Lots 1 to 8 incl. of Blk. 1 and
Lots 2 to 9 inc. of Blk. 2, Bothwell & McConaughy Sub. of Blk.
56; Lots 1 to 21 incl. and Lot 40 of Western Sub. of Blk. 57,
Lots 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8, Blk. 57, all in Plat C, Salt Lake
City Survey, abutting on both sides of Chicago Street, North
Temple to South Temple. South side of South Temple, 8th West to
a point 514 feet west. South side of alley between South Temple
street and Hazel Ave. from 8th :Jest to 9th 'West. South side of
North Temple, 8th West to 9th West Streets, north side of
South Temple, 8th to 9th 'West Streets, west side of 8th West St.
North Temple to South Temple Streets and west side of 9th West,
North Temple to South Temple Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
a vitrified pipe sewer from eight (8) inches in diameter to

fifteen (15) inches in diameter, including manholes, flushtanks
and "Y" junctions, all complete, upon the portions of said streets!
opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to
be especially affected and benefited by said improvement and it
his hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property
will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the
tax hereby levied and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at
a uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon
( said portions of said streets fronting upon and to the entire
depth of said parcels of land back therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Thirteen
Thousand One Hundred Seventy-seven and 48/100 ( 13177.48) dollars;
Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-eight and 88/100 ( 7868.88)
dollars or Four and 25/100 (w4.25) dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting property for full rate, there being 1851.5 feet
abutting said improvement; Five Thousand Three Hundred Eight and
60/100 ($5308.60) dollars or Two and 20/100 (y2.20) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for half rate, there
being 2413.0 feet abutting said improvement, which is the total
abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said sewers according
to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and
making said improvement with John O'Connor, dated the 6th day of
December, 1921, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and direct-
ed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance
for the purposes herein mentioned:

The east side of Lots 3 to 9 incl. and the east side of
the north 16.5 feet of Lot 2, Blk. 2, and the east side of Lots
1 to 8 incl. of Blk. 1, Bothwell & McConaughy Sub. of Blk. 56;
the north side of the east 63.75 feet of Lot 40, the north side
of the west 78.75 feet of Lot 1, the south side of the east 63.75
feet of Lot 21 and the south side of the west 63.75 feet of Lot
20, Western Sub. of Blk. 57; the north side of the west 105 feet

the west 70 feet of the east 112 feet of Lot 7, the south side of
the west 105 feet of Lot 1, the south side of the east 33 feet andl

and the east side of Lots 1 and 8, Blk. 57, all in Plat C, Salt
Lake City Survey:
HALE RATE
The east side of Lots 2 to 20 incl. and the east side
of the south 18 feet of Lot 1, 'Western Sub. of Blk. 57; the west
side of the east 1 foot of Lot 3 and the west side of the south
324 feet of the east 1 foot of Lot 6, Blk. 57; the north side of
Lots 1 to 23 incl., the north side of the east 20 feet of Lot
24 and the north side of Lots 33 to 52 incl. of Blk. 2, Hunter's
Sub. of Blk. 52, Plat C, Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are
shown upon the official plats of said city to the entire depth
of said parcels of land and to collect said tax.
SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board. of
Equalization and Review of the property described. in Section I
of this ordinance in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No.
357) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a sewer
upon said portion of said streets, is hereby confirmed, and the
assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the
report of the Board. of Equalization and Review to tin Board. of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved
and confirmed.
SECTION III, Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at

the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due
and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per
cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, the 21,day of February , A. D., 1922.
