Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE, AMENDING CHAPTER LXII, of the revised ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, by adding in and to said uhapter five new sections to be known as Sections 193711, 1937X2, 1937X3, 19374 and 1937X5, relating to vehicles. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That Chapter iXII of the devised ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, be and the same is hereby amended by add- ing in and to said Chapter five new sections to be known as Sec- tions 1937X1, 1937X2, 1937X3, 1937X4 and 19371.5, relating to vehi- cles, to read as follows: • SECTION 1937X1. ivery person owning or operating any moving van, furniture car, transfer wagon, express wagon, delivery wagon, or any other vehicle engaged in moving or hauling for hire in the City of Salt Lake, shall keep a record of the plane from which and the place to which he moves the household goods or personal effects, or any of them, of .any person who is, or persons who are, removing or vacating any dwelling, house, flat, apartment, room, rooms, or place of residence or abode, or place of business, in the City of Salt Lake, which record shall show the name and address of the mover, the name of the person for whom the moving was done, . the name of the person who was the owner or ostensible owner of the said personal property moved, the address from which in the City of Walt Lake, and to which in the City of Salt r 19 j II,I Lake such moving was done, with the date thereof, and the character of the articles moved. Provided, however, that this ordinance shall not apply to the removal of any such household goods or personal effects from any place in the City of salt Lake to any place outside of said City of Salt Lake or to the removal of such goods or effects from one place to another in said City while in transit to some point outside of said City. SECTION 1957d2. rrery person owning or operating any of the vehicles aforesaid shall, on Monday of each week, file in the office of the Chief of Police of the City of Salt Lake, or send by registered mail to said Chief of Police a full and correct statement of all of such hauling or moving done in the previous week, containing the information as re-I quired by section 1937X1 hereof. Upon receipt of such state- , ments the Chief of Police shall file the same in his office. Such statements shall not be open to the inspection of the d public. The Chief of Police shall keep a register of all sugh transactions in a book or books to be kept for that purpose, with an alphabetical index of the names of the persons for whom such hauling has been done. Said register shall not bed open to the inspection of the public, but the said Chief of Police shall furnish to any person inquiring therefor informa- tian as to any particular change or removal. SECTION 1937X3. Upon request of the person owning] or in charge of the vehicle in which said household goods, or personal effects, or any of them, are to be- so removed, the person for whom said moving is being done shall give to said' owner, or person so in charge of said vehicle, all information necessary to enable him to make and keep such record. It shall be unlawful for any person to give to said owner or person in charge of any vehicle hauling or moving said housc4 I hold goods and personal effects, or any of them, a fictitious name, or to deceive him, or make any knowingly false statement h i -2- 1 � concerning any of said information requested by said owner or person in charge of said vehicle, the obtaining of which is necessary to enable him to make or keep said record. SECTION 1937b4. The Chief of Police shall prepare! �I I and deliver blank statements, free of charge:, for the use of every person owning or operating any of..the vehicles named in Section 193711 hereof, who is required by the terms hereof to file such statements with the Chief of Police. SECTION 193715. The statements provided for herei4 shall be substantially in the following form: REPORT ON REMOVALS. Name and address of-owner of vehicle or of person operating same Character of articles moved _ (Whether household goods or personal effects,) Name of person for whom the articles were moved Place from which moved Place to which moved Date of moving SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty-one days after its passage.
