AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 43-1-14 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, 1955, as amended by Bill No. 139 of 1960, relating to
the police investigation of applicants for taxicab driver's licenses by
adding thereto a paragraph relating to the recommendation and issuance
of temporary permit.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 43-1-14 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended by Bill No. 139 of 1960, relating
to the police investigation of applicants for taxicab driver's licenses,
be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding thereto a paragraph to be
inserted immediately prior to the last paragraph of said section relating
to the recommendation and issuance of temporary permits to read as
follows:
"Pending investigation, the Chief of Police may recom-
mend approval to the Board of Commissioners of the proposed
applicant for a temporary permit to operate a taxicab upon
the streets of Salt Lake City. Such temporary permit may
be granted by the Board of Commissioners for a period not
to exceed ten (10) days. Such permit shall expire upon the
expiration of the granted period or upon the first action
of the Board of Commissioners in considering the application,
pursuant to Section 43-1-15, whichever event occurs earlier.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 6th day of March , 1962.
