AN ORDINANCE AMEN14 Section 9-3-4 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to proscribed hours
in licensed dance halls.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 9-3-4 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to proscribed hours in
licensed dance halls, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as
follows:
Sec. 9-3-4. Proscribed hours. It shall be unlawful for
any person to conduct or maintain any dance within a dance
hall licensed by this title or, having charge or control
thereof, to allow or permit any such dance or dancing between
the hours of 1:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock a.m. of any
day from November 1 to April 30, inclusive, or between the
hours of 2:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock a.m. of any day
from May 1 to October 31, inclusive, regardless of whewhetherher
daylight savings time may be in force and effect; pnrvi may
be
however, that as an exception to the foregoing,
permitted to continue until 2:00 o'clock a.m. on New Year's Day.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is
necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
27th day of February , 1974.
