191 of 1909 - Ordinance 191 of 1909 – Sewer Extension No. 185, Sixth & Final Estimate. AN ORDINANCE . As ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property within the distriot bounded on the north by the north side of Fifth South Street. on the west by Main (formerly East Temple) Street, on :the south by the center line of Ninth South Street, and on the east by the west line of Sewer Extension No. 180, in Sewer District No. 2, Ifor the construction of sewers. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: 1 SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter 'described in Sewer District No. 2, for the construction of sewers, to-wit: In Lets 1, 2. 3 and 4, Block 34, Plat "A", abutting on the north side of Sixth South Street between Main and State Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitri- fied pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portion of sai. street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it i hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will b especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in a000rdanoe with the linear foot frontage upon said ii portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assesse(t. upon said parcels of land is nine hundred ten and 66/100 ( 910.66) dollars, or one and 4928856/10.000.000 ($1.4928856) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer on said portion o f the street above mentioned in Sewer District No. 2, there being 610 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, block and jstreet above mentioned, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewer according to the contract entered into for the per- formenoe of said work and making said improvement, with James Kennedy, 191 jj -2- dated the 4th day of May, 1908, and the Treasurer is hereby authorised and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this or- dinanoe for the purpose herein mentioned: Fronting on Sixth South Street. The west 140 feet of Lot 1, all of Lots 2 and 3, the east 140 feet of Lot 4, Block 34y4at, "A', Salt Lake City Survey, as the same a:TA shown upon the o tiaial plats of said city to a depth of tweet ..five (26) feat bijak.froM said street, and to Oolleot said tax. 3 CTI0N 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal infitallaents, as follows,' to-wit :.One-fifth thereof awe Year after 1 the aipreval of the ord anoe confirming the levy of the .:tax for the h pa m nt:for such improvement; one-firth thereof in two yearn after taoh ap,,Preval; ene-fifth thereof in three years after such approval; •:1.A-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in- stallments, or the whole tax maybe paid on or before ten days after the approval of the ordinance eenfiraing the levy of the tax. One or mere installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day iI any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interest to date of payment. 3aoh of said installments shall beer interest at Ithe rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval , of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until date of delin- quoney, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until paid.
