Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property in the territory between First South ant. Fifth South Streets, and the Jordan River end Navajo Street, in Sidewalk District No. 41, for the construction of cement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax end provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District No. 41, for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit: In Lots 28, Block 4; 1 to 53, inclusive, Block 9; 1 to 53, in- clusive, Block 10; 1, and 22 to 28, inclusive, Block 11, Highland Park Addition; 2 to 6, inclusive, Block 4; 11, and 2 to 5, inclusive, Block 1; 5 to 11, inclusive, Block 5, Golden Park Addition; 2 to 9, inclusive, Block 5; 1 to 19, inclusive, Block 12, Jordan Place Sub- division, all in Section 2, Township 1 south, Range 1 vest, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, abutting on the north side of Second South Street between the Jordan River and Concord Street; on the south side of Second South Street between the Jordan River and Navajo Street; on the north Fide of Third South Street between the Jordan River and Navajo Street; oh the south side of Third South Street between the Jorden River and Emery Street; on both sides of Fourth South Street between the Jordan River and Emery Street; on the north -1- side of fifth South Street between the Jordan River and Emery j Street; on both sides of Paoifie Avenue between the Jordan River and Emery Street; pn the' east side of Navajo Street between Seoon South and Third South Streets; on both sides of Twelfth West Stre t between Second South and Third South Streets; and on the west sid of Concord Street between. Second South and Third South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of oonstructing cement sidewalks four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches think, wit three and one-quarter (32) inch base and three-quarter (&) inch topping, upon the portions of said streets opposite the property li hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be espeoially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, an. said parcels of lend are hereby assessed at en equal and uniform rate in aocordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets, fronting upon a.nd'to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of lend is thirty-six hundred nintey-six end id 58/100 ($3696.58) dollars, or 62/100 ( 0.62) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 5962.22 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalks, according to the oon- I tract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with G. A. Heman, Contractor, dated the 21st II 1! day of May, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and , directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: t ' »2- The south side of Lot 28, Block 4; the west side of Lots 1 to 22, inclusive, the north side of Lots 1 and 53, the east side of Lots 32 to 53, inclusive, the south side of Lots 22 to 32, inclu- sive, Block 9; the west side of Lots 1 to 22, inclusive, the east side of Lots 32 to 53, inclusive, the north side of Lots 1 and 53, the south side of Lots 22 to 32, inclusive, Block 10; the north side of Lot 1, the south side of Lots 22 to 28, inclusive, Block 11, Highland. Park Addition; the south side of Lots 2 to 6, inclu- sive, Block 41 the north side of Lots 11, and 2 to 5, inclusive, Block 1, Golden Park Addition; the south side of Lots 2 to 9, in- clusive, Block 5; the north side of Lots 11 to 19, inclusive, the south side of Lots 2 to 10, inclusive, the south side of the west 341.72 feet of Lot 1, Block 12, Jordan Place Subdivision; the north side of Lots 5 to 11, inclusive, Block 5, Golden Park Addition, all in Section 2, Township 1 south, Range 1 west, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, as the same are shown upon the official plats of sai city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. This tax shall become and he delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per pent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years afte said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; snd one-fifth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the 'evy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment of -3- the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the Same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, end shall dray interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Sidewalk Extension No. 171. Third partial Estimate.
