Shearman Wells _�.��W i v--=�' /t t/. . ) L C Mr.Chairman • Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax end for the assessment of property on Eleventh East Street between Ninth South Street and Uale- - ' Avenue, in Paving District No. 31, end in Paving Extension No. 91, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, constructing drainage and irrigation systems, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 31, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, constructing drainage and irrigation systems, and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lots 12 to 17, inclusive, Block 17, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, abutting on the west side of Eleventh East Street between Ninth South Street and Tale Avenue. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering and curbing with cement, constructing drainage and irrigation systems from four (4) inches to fifteen (15) inches in diameter, of iron cement, vitrified, corrugated and wrought iron pipe, and paving with bitulithie pavement a roadway (said roadway being forty-four (44) feet wide between curbs, and six (6) inches thick) , the portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and -1- 195 .I I ;hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited there-' by to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels f of lend are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of sail street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said 1 parcels of land is sixty-seven hundred fifty-eight and 60/100 ($6758.60) dollars, or four and 70/100 (w4.70) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for forty-four foot roadway (with car tracks) there being 1438 feet of abutting property with- in the boundaries of the lots, block and street above mentioned 14 said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with Strange- ji Maguire Paving Company, dated the 9th day of October, 1913, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Forty-four Foot Roadway (With Car Tracks) The east side of Lots 12 to 16, inclusive, the east side of the north 2.50 feet of Lot 17, all in Block 17, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to oolleet said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years -2- after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three) years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one- tenth thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. I In the event of any installment, or the interest aforesaid, not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in whit they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day the same becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
