Shearman Wells � cr—vim V 6/�✓° ��, d t � Mr.Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Thirteenth East Street between First South and Fifth South and Street2i/on Fifth South Street between Thirteenth East Street and Mount Olivet, in Paving District No. 27, and in Paving Extensioh No. 36, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, constructing drainage system, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, oonstructing drainage system, and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lots 1, and 15 to 26, inclusive, Block 1, Subdivision of Block 26; 4 and 5, Block 25; 3, 4 and 5, Block 17; 5, Block 16; 1, and 22 to 40, inclusive, Block 1, Ehrioh's Subdivision of Block 23; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 24; 1 to 8, inclusive, Block 1, East Bench Subdivision of Block 18; 12 to 22, inclusive, Block 1, Steele's Subdivision of Block 18, all in Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Thirteenth East Street between Second South and Fifth South Streets; and on both sides of Fifth South i J Street between Thirteenth East Street and Mount Olivet. -1- Eii,) This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, gutter- ing and curbing with cement, constructing drainage system, and paving with bitulithic pavement roadways sixty (60) feet wide between curbs and six (6) inches think, that portion of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied Viand to be assessed upon said parcels of land is thirty-three thousand nine hundred fifty-eight and 8/100 ($33,958.08) dollars; sixty-five hundred sixty and 40/100 ($6560.40) dollars, or four and 97/100 ($4.97) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sixty foot roadway with double traok (curb and gutter built),there being 1320 feet abutting said portion of said im- provement; eighty-one hundred ninety-six and 24/100 ($8196.24) dollars, or nine and 62/100 ($9.62) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sixty foot roadway, with single track, there being 852 feet abutting said portion of said improve- ment; and nineteen thousand two hundred one and 44/100 ($19,201.44 dollars, or seven and 34/100 (07.34) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sixty foot roadway, with double track, there being 2616 feet abutting said portion of said improve mment, within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above !mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per !front foot of said improvement, according to the contraot entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with Strange-Maguire Paving Company, dated the 14th day of May, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to asses , "2" in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the pur- pose herein mentioned: Sixty Foot Roadway (Double Track. Curb 82 Gutter Built) The east side of Lots 1, and 15 to 26, inclusive, BlockSubdivision of Block 26; the west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 25, IPlat "F", Salt Lake City Survey. Sixty Foot Roadway (Single Track) The south side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 17; commencing at the southeast corner of Block 17, thence east 96 feet; the north side of Lot 5, Block 16; commencing at the northeast corner of Block 16, thence east 96 feet, all in Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey. Sixty Foot Roadway (Double Track) The east side of Lots 1, and 22 to 40, inclusive, Block 1, Ehrieh's Subdivision of Block 23; the west side of Lots 2, 3 and 5, the north 119.25 feet of the west side, and the south 36.75 feet of the west side of Lot 4, Block 24; the west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 17; the east side of Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, Black 1, 1East Bench Subdivision of Block 18; the east side of Lots 12 to 22, inclusive, Block 1, Steele's Subdivision of Block 18, all in Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall bedome and be delinquent in ten equal yearly ihetallments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof i+ four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one tent. -3- i ( thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one- tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effect- ive; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinanoe becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirm- ing the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid et the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall drew interest at the ' rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in whic. they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
