An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
property in the territory between_ the south side of ':"nird Avenue
and the North side of Eleventh Avenue, and the east side of Canyon
Road and the east side of IL. Street, in Paving, Districts Nos. 24
and 30, for the purpose of providing for the grading, pattering. an.
curbing thereof, and constructing drainage system across inter-
sections.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake•
City, Utah:

hereby levy the tam and provide for the assessment of the same upo-
the property hereinafter described in Paving Districts Nos. 24 and
30, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering end

This tax io levied to defray the expense of grading,
1 guttering and curbing with cement, and constructing• drainage sys-
tems across intersections, said roadways to be forty (40) feet

between curbs on P, S and Streets,and on Seventh Eighth and
Tenth Avenues; forty-six (46) feet between curbs on Sixth. Avenue,
and fifty (50) feet between curbs on Third, and ninth Avenues,

upon that portion of said streets opposite the aroperty hereinbe- i
fore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and
henefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, deter-
mined and established that said property will be esaecia lly
benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, an.
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal. and uniform
rote in accordance with -t .e linear foot frontage upon said portioi
of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25)
feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed

official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet
back from said streets, and to collect said tax.
SECTION' 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in
five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum un-
paid at the rate of six per cent per annurm, payable at the time ,
each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof,one year after
the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for
such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in
four years after said ordinance becomes effective, and one-fifth
thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One
or more of said installments, in the order in which they are pay-
able, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within
thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax be-
comes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment-
or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same be-,
comes due, no whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time
said installment and interest are due, shall become due and pay-
able, and, shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per
a-mum until the sale of the property as sessed; provided, one mr
more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the
whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment
becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.

SECTION 3. hi ordinance shall take effect one day
after its first -:)ublication.
