AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR. THE LICENSING OF MoTOR
VEHICLE OPERATORS AND CHAUFFEURS AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR
THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive
any motor vehicle upon the str-cets of Salt Lake City unless such
person has been licensed as an operator or chauffeur under the
provisions of Chanter 45, Laws of Utah, 1933, by the State Tax
Commission and said license is in good standing.
SECTION 2. Any person violating any provision of this
ordinance shall be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding
G1j Two Hundred Ninety-nine ($299.00) Dollars or by imprisonment in
the city jail not longer than six months, or by both such fine
and imprisonment.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this
ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication.
