Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 694 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, as amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners on February 8, 1938, relating to licensers, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SEC. 694. STOCKBROKERS TO HAVE LICENSE. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in or conduct the business, or act in the capacity of stockbroker within the limits of Salt Lake City, without first having obtained a license therefor as in this chapter provided. Any person who, for a commission or other compensation, engages in, conducts, or negotiates the buying and selling or offering for sale, or buying or selling or offering for sale of stocks, shares, securities or evidence of stocks of corporations or associations, or representatives of value, contracting in his or its own name, or for or as agent of another, or for or on ac— count of another, shall be deemed a stockbroker and engaged in the business of stockbroker. Any person engaged in said business of stockbroker, having an office and established place of business in Salt Lake City, shall obtain a license to carry on such business, and shall pay for such license the sum of $6.00 per year. Any person engaging in said business of stockbroker 2 . -2- not having an office and established place of business in Salt Lake City and every itinerant or traveling stockbroker or curb broker, having no office and established place of business in Salt Lake City, shall pay for such license the sum of $50.00 per year. SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately SECTION 3.
