AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1 of the Revised Ordi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, by adding in and to said
chapter a new section to be known as Section 141, providing for
salary raises for appointive officers.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Chapter 1 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, be and the same is hereby amended by
adding in and to said chapter a new section to be known as Sec-
tion 141, providing for salary raises for appointive officers,
which shall read as follows:
"SEC. 141. SALARY RAISES FOR APPOINTIVE OFFICERS.
All persons heretofore appointed by the Board of Commission-
ers to any salaried office under city government and whose
office and salary is established and fixed by ordinance,
including officers in the fire department and police depart-
ment of Salt Lake City, shall be paid the sum of $10.00 per
month in addition to the fixed remuneration now received by
them from Salt Lake City. The payment of the said monthly
sum of $10.00 shall begin with the month of February, 1948;
provided, however, that the following officers shall receive
not to exceed the sum of money as salary for their offices
as listed below, to-wit:
Per annum.
Chief Deputy City Auditor $3960.00
Chief of Fire Department 4980.00
Chief of Police Department 4980.00
City Attorney 5040.00
City Engineer, including services render-
ed the Metropolitan Water District of
Salt Lake City , 7440.00 "
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,

it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Lalt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication.
