Chairman . ,/ Ir / Result (,/AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Paragraph (e) of Section 25-4-6 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, added to said section by Bill No. 44 of 1967, passed August 1, 1967 and amended by Bill No. 84 of 1967, relating to Uniform Allowances for members of the police, fire and health departments. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Paragraph (e) of Section 25-4-6 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, added to said section by Bill No. 44 of 1967, passed August 1, 1967, and amended by Bill No. 84 of 1967, relating to Uniform Allowances for members of the police, fire and health departments, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Seca 25-4-6. * * * "(e) Uniform allowance. In addition to the salaries herein provided for the members of the fire department, police depart- ment and health department, each officer and employee of said departments, who is required to wear a uniform shall receive the sum of $15.00 per month as a uniform allowance, provided, however, that the personnel of the police department required to wear a uniform and who are assigned to duty in the K-9 Corps, the motorcycle patrol and plainclothesmen detail shall receive an additional uniform allowance of $20.00 per month, a total ,of $35.00 per month, in view of the extra hazards to uniform involved in such assignment, provided further that personnel of the police department holding the rank of lieutenant or captain shall not receive the $20.00 per month additional uniform allowance above provided for." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
