AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
REZONING AND FIXING BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has held
the public hearing to consider and deliberate on Petition 242 of
1980 and the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission
that certain property having frontage upon 200 East Street
between 824 and 860 South, presently zoned Residential "R-6" be
rezoned for Commercial "C-1" classification. Said Council has
also considered the testimony of citizens, various planning and
demographic data and has participated in an on-site inspection of
the property. Based on said review and deliberation, the City
Council finds that the proposed rezoning is appropriate in order
to encourage the appropriate development and growth in the
Central City Community that will be compatible with the best
interests of the particular neighborhood and development of the
City as a whole. Therefore it adopts the following amendments to
the Use District provisions of Title 51.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the "Use District Map" as adopted by
Section 51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1965 as amended, relating to the fixing of boundaries of
Use Districts, be, and the same hereby is amended as follows:
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Districts.
Residential "R-6" to Commercial "C-1".
That the following described area of Salt Lake City, Utah,
generally located on the west side of 200 East Street between the
west line of 200 East Street and extending thence west 165 feet
for 249 feet from approximately 824 to 860 South, currently zoned
Residential "R-6" shall be zoned to a Commercial "C-1"
classification.
Beginning at a point on the west line of 200 East
Street which is 165.00 feet north from the
southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Plat A, Salt
Lake City Survey; thence running west 165.00 feet
to the west line of Lot 1 of said Block 2, Plat A;
thence north 249.00 feet along the west line of
Lot 1 and Lot 8 of said Block 2, Plat A; thence
east 165 feet more or less to the west line of 200
East Street; thence south 249.00 feet along the
west line of 200 East Street to the point of
beginning. Contains .094 acres more or less.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 13th day of January , 1981.
