An ordinance amending and re-enacting Section 739 of the
Revised'Ordin,ances of Salt Lake City of 1903, relating to tele-
graph, telephone and other roles in streets, as amended by an
ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, September 16, 1912.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTIOII 1. That Section 739 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, relating to telegraph, telephone and other poles
in streets, as amended by an ordinance passed ty the Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, 'Sentember 16, 1912, be, and
the same is hereby amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
739. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or cor-
poration to erect in any part of any street of Salt Lake City,
which is paved, or which is about to be paved, any wooden
pole or roles, for any purpose, except upon a permit issued
by the Board of Commissioners of said city; or to erect any
pole or poles of any kind, for any purpose, in any other
street of said city except in strict pursuance of a written
permit from the City is'nr .ineer. The permit authorized by
the Board of Commissioners and issued by the City Engineer
shall specify the person, firm or corporation to whom it is
issued, and the naterial, size, height, construction and
location of such pole or roles, and which permit must be on
the ground where such poles are being erected, and must he
freely exhibited to any person or city officer asking to
examine it.
SECTION 2, Thin ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
