AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3508 of the Revised Ofdi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to the law depart-
ment, as amended by ordinances passed by the Board of Commission-
ers on June 21, 1945, and February 26, 1946, and as amended by
Section 140 of Chapter I of an ordinance passed by the Board of
Commissioners on January 23, 1947, and designated as bill No. 8
of 1947, relating to administration.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Section 3508 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to the law department, as
amended by ordinances passed by the Board of Commissioners on June
21, 1945, and February 26, 1946, and as amended by Section 140 of
Chapter I of an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners on
January 23, 1947, and designated as bill No. 8 of 1947, relating
to administration, be and the same is further amended to read as
follows:
"SEC. 3508. COMPENSATION. The compensation of the offi-
cers in the law department shall be such as may be fixed by
the board of commissioners, not to exceed the amounts stated
as follows: city attorney, $5040.00 per annum; two assistant
city attorneys, each $4440.00 per annum; one assistant city
attorney, $3600.00 per annum. Such compensation shall be
paid monthly."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
