An ordinance levying a tax end for the assessment of property
in the district bounded on the north by Sixth South Street, on the
east by Mount Olivet, on the south by Ninth South Street, end on
the west by Ninth East Street; also on both sides of Fourth South
Street between Tenth East end Eleventh East Streets, the east side
of Tenth East Street between Fourth South Street and Fuller Avenue,
the west side of University Street between Third South end Fourth
South Streets, end on both sides of Douglas Street in Rogers'
Subdivision, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 22, 23 and 44, for the
construction of cement sidewalks.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Ss.lt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk Districts
a-.
Nos. 22 23 -A'aer-44, for the construction of cement sidewalks,
to-wit:
In Lots 9, and 1 to 6, inclusive, Block 13; 1 to 6, inclusive,
and 9 to 14, inclusive, Block 12, Fremont Heights Subdivision of
Block 1; 29 to 35, inclusive, and 44 to 50, inclusive, Block 7,
Douglas Park Subdivision of Block 1; 6, Block 1; 2 to 5, inclusive,
Block 8, all in Flat "F", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the
east side of Thirteenth East Street between Seventh South end
Ninth South Streets; on both sides of Eighth South Street between
Thirteenth East Street and Mount Olivet; and on both sides of
Sunnyside Avenue between Thirteenth East and Fourteenth East

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
oement sidewalks r (44 five (6) feet wide and six
(6) feet wide (all of said sidewalks to be four (4) inches think
with three and one-quarter (3i) inch base and three-quarter (&)
inch topping), upon the portions of said streets opposite the
property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjud:ed,
determined and established that said property will be especially
benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said por-
tions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be
assessed upon said parcels of land is twenty-five hundred thirty-
four and 69/100 ($2634.69) dollars; nineteen hundred ten and
68/100 ($1910.68) dollars, or one and 4/100 (t1.04) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for six foot sidewalks,
there being 1837.20 feet abutting said portion of said improve-
ment; and six hundred twenty-four and 1/100 ($624.01) dollars, or
94/100 ($0.94) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting prop-
erty for five foot sidewalks, there being 663.84 feet abutting
said portion of said improvement, within the boundaries of the lot ,
blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts, which is the
total cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalks, according
to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and
making said improvement, with G. A. Heman, dated the 24th day of
April, 1913, end the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed
to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance,
for the purpose herein mentioned:
Six Foot Walks.
The west side of the east 24.1 feet of Lots 6 and 9, Block 13;

feet of Lot 6, Block 12, Fremont Heights Subdivision of Block 1;

feet of Lot 2, the west side of Lots 2 to 5, inclusive, Blook 8,

all in Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey.
Five Foot Walks.
The north side of Lots 29 to 35, inclusive, the south side of
Lots 44 to 50, inclusive, Block 7, Douglas Park Subdivision of
Block 1; the north side of Lots 1 to 5, inclusive, the north side
of the east 24.1 feet of Lot 6, Block 13; the south side of Lots
10 to 14, inclusive, the 'south side of the east 24.1 feet of Lot 9,
Block 12, Fremont Heights Subdivision of Block 1, all in Plat "F",
Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official
plate of said oity to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from
said streets, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. $is tax shell become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per oent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for thekayment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years
after said ordinande becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in
four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One
or more of said installments, in the order in which they are pay-
able, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within
thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax
becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any install-
ment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same
becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the tim1

said installment end interest are due, shall become due and pay-
able, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per gI
annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or
more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the
whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment
becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and in*erect to said
date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
