Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
in the territory between Third South and Ninth South, and Ninth
East and Thirteenth East Streets, in Paving District No. 27, for
the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering
thereof, and constructing drainage system therein.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax end provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Raving District
No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, and curbing
and guttering thereof, and constructing drainage system therein,
to-wit:
In Lots 5 and 6, Block 20; 1 to 4, inclusive, Block 21; 13,
Block 2, Sylvan Park Subdivision, Block 11; 5, Block 11; 11 and
12, Block 1; 11 and 12, Block 2, Steele's Subdivision, Block 18;
1 and 2, Block 1; 1 and 2, Block 2, Ehrich's Subdivision, Block 23;
2, Block 14; 5 to 8, inclusive, Block 19; 1 and 2, Block 22, all
in Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of
Fourth South Street between Tenth East and Thirteenth East Streets;
and on both sides of Sixth South Street between Eleventh East and
Elizabeth Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing

:and guttering with cement, and constructing drainage system of
oement, vitrified, corrugated and wrought iron pipe from six (6)
inches to twenty-four (24) inches in diameter, upon the portions
lof the streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter
desoribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improve-1
ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that
jsaid property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
Oamount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are
jhereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with
the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets front-;
ling upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom,
; and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of
, land is ten thousand six hundred four and 50/100 ( 10,604.50)
1dollars; thirty-one hundred and two 03102.00) dollars, or two and'i
1 35/100 02.35) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting prop-
1arty for forty foot roadway, there being 1320 feet abutting said
portion of said illiprovement; and seventy-five hundred two and

front or linear foot of abutting property for fifty foot roadway,
there being 3001 feet abutting said portion of said improvement,
within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above men-
tioned in said district, which is the total coEt and cost per front
1 foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into
Ifor the performance of said work and making said improvement, with
H. G. Gilkerson, dated the 20th day of May, 1914, and the Trees-
urer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein
1 mentioned:
Forty Foot Roadway.
The north side of Lots 5 end 6, Block 20; the south side of
Lots 1 to 4, inclusive, Block 21, all in Plat "F", Salt Lake City
Survey.

313.5 feet of Lot 2, Block 22, all in Plat "F", Salt Lake City
Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city,;
Ito a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to;
collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall beoome and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on- the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each

installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the I
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in
four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One
or more of said installments, in the order in which they are pay-
able, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within
Ithirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax I
) becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any install-)
I ment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the samel
I becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the
time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and
payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per
I annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or

. more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the
1whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment
becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said
date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
1 its first publication.
