An ordinance amending and re-enacting Section 290 of the Re-
vised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1903.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 290 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City of 1903, be, and the same hereby is amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
SECTION 290. CITY CHEMIST. APP.OINTIvIENT. COMPENSATION.
DUTIES. The Board of Health shall have the power to appoint,
subject to the confirmation of the Council, a Suitable person
as City Chemist, at a salary of ten hundred and twenty
( 1020.00) dollars per annum, which shall be in full for all
services rendered, payable monthly as are the salaries of other
city officers. It shall be his duty to make such analyses,
tests and examinations as may be required by the Board of
Health and ;Engineering Department, the supplies for which anal-
yses, tests and examinations shall not exceed the sum of
twenty-five ($2t.00) dollars per month, bills for wisich sup-
plies shall be audited, allowed and paid as are other bills for
supplies furnished the City.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall to ke effect upon approval.
