An ordinance creating the office of el,ief clerk in the
Department of Streets and Public Improvements end fixing the
salary, powers and duties of such clerk.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah]
Section 1. There is hereby created the office of chief clerk
in the department of Streets and Public Improvements.
Section 2. The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, may appoint a. competent person 'to the office of chief clerk
in the department of Streets and Public Improvements who ,shall
receive a salary of 0500.c0 per annum payable monthly as are the
salaries of other city officers and who shall perform such duties
as may be prescribed by the Board of Commissioners and the Com-
missioner of Streets and Public Improvements.
Section 3. The chief clerk in the department of Streets and
Public Improvements shall before entering upon the duties of his
office subscribe the constitutional oath of office and give bond

to Salt Lake City in the sum of ; / O O o conditioned as
provi ded by law.
Section 4. All ordinances and parts of c.rdin<^.nces in con-
fli t herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
