An ordinance levyina a tq( and for the assezement of property on
both Bides of Iowa Avenue between Second South and Third South :=.;treet- ,
in Sewer District So. 1, for no uonstruotion ef a sewer.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTICil 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the smee upon the property hereinafter
described in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a eawer,
to-wit;
In Lots Noe. 2 and 7, hiock 43, Diet "B", abutting on both sides
of Iowa Avenue between Second South and Third. South Streete.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of conetrneting a vitri
fled pipe sewer eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portion of said
street opeosite the property hereinbefore ant noretnafter described
to be especially affected and benefited by said imerovenent, and it
is hereby adjudged, determined and establinhed that said property will
be espeeially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby ansessed at an evel and
uniform rate in accordrce with the linear foot frontee,o upon said
portions-of said street fronting upon and. to a death of taenty-five
(25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed
upon said parcels of land is eight hundred fifty-eight and 55/100
( 858.55) dollars, or one tend 1379/10,000 (41.1379) dollars per front

or linear foot of abutting property, there being 754.50 feet of abut-
ting eroeerty within the boundaries of the lot , bloc I and street
above mentioned, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of 1

said Bower according to the contract entered into for the performance
of said work and meXing Bald improvement, with Giraoreon & Long, date
the 1st day of November, 1909, and the Treaeurer ie hereby authorized
and directed to aesous in accordence with the erovieione of this ordi
nonce for the pureoeo herein mentienod:
The south 210 feet of the east side of the merit 74.5 feet of-Lot
e-efl.
7, the north 181.5 feet of the east side of the west 66.5 feet e L'Ot

2, the oouth 165 feet of the west .rite of the east 74.5 feet of Lot
7, the north 198 feet of the west :side off the east 825 feet of Lot 2,
Block 43, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, as the some are shown upon
1 the official plots of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet
back from seid street, and to collect said tax.
9BCTIOE 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five eau 1
yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the ra e
of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each;installrncnt is
due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the 4p,r.oval of the or-
diaenoe confirming the levy of the tax for the payant for such im-
provement; one-fifth thereof in two years after such approval; one-
fifth thereof in three years after such aparoval; ono-fifth thereof
in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years
of said
after such approval. Ono or moreAinstrllmonts, in the order in which
they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at any time
within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the
levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any iaatsllment
or the interest aforesaid, not being paid on the date the some becomes
due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said in-
stallment and interest are due, shall become 1ue and payable, and
shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per a.anun until sale
of the property accessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid may
be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount
thereof and interest to said date.
