Le it ordained by the Eoard of Co„duission.ers of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 208 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to animals, be and the same is hereby' amended to read as follows: "SEC. 208. KEEPING OF DOMESTIC FOWLS AND ANIMALS WITFHIN THE CITY LIMITS.(a)It shall be unlawful for any person to keep within the limits of Salt Lake City any chicken, pigeon, tur- key, duck, goose, or other similar domestic fowl, or any sheep, goat, cow, calf, pig, horse, jack, jinny, fox, rabbit, or other similar animals, without first making application for and obtain- ing a permit from the sanitary division of the board of health to do so. (b) The board of health is hereby empowered to make rules and regulations governing the keeping of such domestic fowls and animals as may be required to protect the health and welfare of the citizens of Salt Lake City; provided, that in no case shall such a permit be issued by the sanitary division of the board of health to keep any mink, or snake, or to keep more than the following number of domestic fowls: 25 chickens, 25 pigeons, 25 ducks, 25 turkeys, or 25 other similar domestic fowls; or to keep more than the following number of animals: 2 sheep, 2 goats, 1 cow, 1 calf, 1 pig, 2 horses, 2 jacks, 2 jinnies, 1 fox, 10 rabbits, or other similar animals) ewe/lilt-however, (c) Any person who desires to keep for co,maercial purposes in excess of the number of anyAf the domestic fowls or various dra -2- animals mentioned heretofore and not prohibiteu shall wake application to the License Assessor and Collector for a license so to do. Any permittee may within five days from date of revocation of ,'y,,, his permit appeal to the board of Coamdssioners of Salt Lake City who may after a hearing confirm said revocation or rein- state said permit. (f) The board of health shall at all times maintain supe vision of the sanitary conditions of premises where such ani- mals are kept.
