AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sections 242 and 243 of Title 46 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to funeral
processions.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Sections 242 and 243 of Title 46 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to funeral processions,
be, and the same hereby are, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 242. Funeral procession. Driving through. No driver of
a vehicle should drive between the vehicles comprising a funeral
procession when such procession is accompanied by an adequate police
escort or escort service while they are in motion and when such
vehicles are conspicuously designated as required in this code,
except when otherwise directed by a police officer. This provision
shall not apply to drivers of authorized emergency vehicles.

"Sec. 243. Id. Funeral identification. Right of way. (a)
' Each motor vehicle participating in a funeral procession, when ac-
companied by an adequate police escort or escort service, when
00 going to any place of burial, shall display illuminated headlights
thereon and shall follow not more than 30 feet behind the motor

vehicle just preceding and such vehicles so identified shall have
O the right-of-way at any street intersection over all other vehicles,

w "(b) All motor vehicles in a funeral procession, when accom-

m red or stop signal, provided such movement is made with due caution
