Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax end for the assessment of property
in the territory included between Twelfth South and Thirteenth South
Streets, and Fifth East and Eleventh East Streets, in Sidewalk
District No. 44, for the construction of cement sidewalks.
Be it ordained. by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and )rovide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District No. 44,
for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit:
In Lots 1 to 11, inclusive, and 22 to 40, inclusive, Block 13;
1 to 39, inclusive, Block 12; 1 to 30, inclusive, Block 7; 22 and
23, Block 16; 1 to 4, inclusive, and 23 to 42, inclusive, Block 15;
2 to 22, inclusive, Block 14; 1 to 42, inclusive, Block 6; 2,to,22,
inclusive, Block 5; 6 to 16, inclusive, Block 8, Forest Dale

Streets; on the south side of Twelfth South Street between Sixth

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing

cement sidewalks four (4) feet wide and five (5) feet wide (all of
said sidewalks to be four (4) inches thick with three and one-
quarter (34) inch base end three-quarter (Z) inch topping) , upon
the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore
and hereinafter described to be especially affected end benefited
by said improvement, end it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established that said property will be especially benefited there-
by to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels
of land are hereby assessed at an equal end uniform rate in accor-
dance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said
streets fronting upon end to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back
therefrom, end the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said
parcels of lend is eighteen thousand two hundred sixty-nine and
9/100 ($18,269.09) dollars; seventy-five hundred twenty and 90/100
(07520.90) dollars, or 675/1000 (00.675) dollars per front or liner
foot of abutting property for four foot sidewalks, there being
11142.07 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; and ten
thousand seven hundred forty-eight and 19/100 ( 10,748.19) dollars
or 795/1000 (00.795) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property for five foot sidewalks, there being 13519.74 feet abut-
ting said portion of said improvement, within the boundaries of
the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district,
which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalks,
according to the contract entered into for the performance of said
work and making said improvement, with Parrott Brothers Company,
dated the 3rd day of September, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provi-
sions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. This tax shell become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, wiliafa with interest on the whole sum
unpaid at the rate of six ner cent per annum, payable at the time
each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for
such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in
four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth

thereof in five years after said ordinance beoomes effective. One
or more of said installments, in the order in which they are pay-
able, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within
thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax
becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any install-
ment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same
becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the tim.
said installment and interest are due, shall become due end pay;
able, end shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per
annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or
more installments, in the order in which t'.ey are payable, or the
whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment
• becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said
date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
