Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tex and for the assessment of property
in the territory between Third South and Ninth South, and Ninth
East end Thirteenth East Streets, in Paving District No. 27, for
the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering
thereof, and constructing drainage system therein.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 27,
for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering
thereof, end constructing drainage system therein, to-wit:
In Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 13; 1 end 2, Block 20; 1, 5, 6,
7 and 8, Block 15; 8 to 17, inclusive, Block 2; 8 to 17, inclusive,
Block 1; East Bench Subdivision, Block 18; 5 and 6, Block 14; 1, 2,
3 and 4, Block 19; 2, Z, 4 and 5, Block 16, all in Plat "F", Salt
Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Fifth South Street
between Tenth East and Thirteenth East Streets; and on both sides
of Thirteenth East Street between Fifth South and Sixth South
Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
and guttering with cement, and constructing druinege system of
cement, vitrified, corrugated and wrought iron pipe from six (6)

inches to twenty-four (24) inches in diameter, upon the portions
of the streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter
described to be especially effected and benefited by said improve-
ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that
said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
amount of the tax hereby levied, End said parcels of lend are
hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with
the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets front
ing upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet beck therefrom,
and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of
land is thirteen thousand one hundred one and 59/100 (413,101.59) ;
forty-six hundred ninety-seven and 94/100 (44697.94) dollars, or
two and 47/100 (42.47) dollars per front or linear foot of abuttint.

four hundred three and 65/100 (48403.65) dollars, or two and 62/100
(*2.62) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
sixty foot roadway (with single track) , there being .3207.5 feet
abutting said portion of said improvement, within the boundaries
of the lots, blocks end streets above mentioned in said distriot,
which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improve-
ment, according to the contract entered into for the performance
of said work and making said improvement, with H. G. Gilkerson,
dated the 20th day of May, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provi-
sions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

The north side of the east 155 feet of Lot 7, the north side
of Lots 5, 6 and 8, Block 13; the south side of Lots 1 and. 2, Bloc.
20; the north side of Lot 5, the north side of the west 132 feet o
Lot 6, Block 15; the south side of Lots 8 to 17, inclusive, Block
2, East Bench Subdivision, Block 18, all in Plat "F", Salt Lake
City Surirey.

Sixty Foot Roadw (With Single Track)
The south side of Lots 8 to 17, inclusive, Block 1, East Bench
Subdivision, Block 18; the north side of the east 132 feet of Lot
7, Block 15; the north side of Lots 5 and 6, Block 14; the north
side of Lot 8, Block 15; the south side of the east 65 feet, and
the south side of the west 92 feet of Lot 1, the south side of Lot
2, 3 and 4, Block 19; the east side of Lots 1 and 8, Block 15; the
west side of Lots 2, 3 and 5, the west side of the north 148.5 fee
of Lot 4, Block 16, all in Flet "F", Salt Lake City Survey, as the
same are shown upon the offioial plats of said city to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said
tax.
SECCTION 2. Setd tax shell become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per Dent per annum, payable et the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the
' ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years afte
said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there-
of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or
more of said installments, in the order in 'which they are payable,
or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty
days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes
effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or
the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes
due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said
installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, any
shell draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until
the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more install-
ments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole speoia

tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by
paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
itc first publication.
