Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on Twelfth South Street from Ninth East Street to the east side of
the new Fire Station, and on Eleventh East Street from 290 feet
north of Twelfth South Street to 80 feet south of Twelfth South
Street, in Paving District No. 31, for the purpose of providing for
the grading, guttering end curbing, constructing two cement side-
walks, constructing drainage and irrigation systems, building. con-
crete conduit for Parley's Creek and the Jordan end Solt Lake City
Canal, end paving said streets.
Be it ordained 'oy the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax end provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 31,
for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing,
constructing two cement sidewalks, constructing drainage and irriga-
tion systems, building concrete conduit for. Parley's Creek end the
Jordan and Salt Lake City Canal, and paving said streets, to-wit:
In Lots 1, Block 1; 2, Block 1-A; 7 to 19, inclusive, Block 2;
7 to 19, inclusive, Block 1, Parkins Boulevard Addition, all in
kkssak Five Acre Plat "A"; 20 end. 21, Block 4; 20 and 21, Block 3,
Geneva Place Subdivision, Block 45; 31 to 42, inclusive, Block 4,
Fairmount Springs Subdivision, Block 45; 9, Block 46; and in Blocks
45 and 46, all in Ten Acre Flat "A", Big 'Field Survey, abutting on •

both sides of Twelfth 'South Street from Ninth East Street to the
east side of the New Fire Station; and on Eleventh East Street frog.
290 feet north of Twelfth South Street to 80 feet south of Twelfth
South Street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, gutterin;,
and curbing with cement, constructing two cement sidewalks, (said
sidewalks to be five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick, with
three and one-quarter (3n) inch base and three-quarter ( ) inch
topping)on said Twelfth South Street, constructing drainage end
irrigation systems of cement, vitrified and corrugated iron pipe,
building concrete conduit forty-eight (48) inches in diameter for
Parleyhs Creek and the Jordan and Salt Lake City Canal, and paving
with Utah rock asphalt two thirty-six fott roadways with park
between (said perk to be ten (10) feet wide at the west end end
fifty (50) feet wide at the east end, on Twelfth South Street from
Jordan e.nd Salt Lake City Canal to Eleventh Eect Street; one forty
foot roadway on said Twelfth South Street from Ninth East Street
to the Jordan and Salt Lake City Canal; one forty-two foot roadway
on said Twelfth South Street (with single track) from Highland
Drive east to the east side of the new Fire Station; one forty-fou
foot roadway (with single track) on Eleventh East Street from 75
feet north of Twelfth South Street to 80 feet south of Twelfth
South Street; and one forty-four foot roadway (with double track)
on said Eleventh East Street from 75 feet north of Twelfth South
Street north 215 feet; all of said asphalt roadways to be nine (9)
inches thick, with six (6) inch base, one (1) inch bindor and two
(2) inch top, the portions of said streets opposite the property
hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected
and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged,
determined and established that said property will be especially
benefited thereby to the full amount of the tar hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at en equal and uniform. :

of said streets fronting upon and to e depth of twenty-five (25)
feet back therefrom, and. the tax hereby levied and to be assessed
upon said parcels of land is twenty-nine thousand three hundred
ninety-four end 78/100 ( 29,394.78) dollars; forty-four hundred

thirty-six foot roadway (with park) there being 402.66 feet abut-
ting said portion of said improvement; forty-four hundred four and

roadway (with park and five foot walk) there being 374.57 feet
abutting said portion of said improvement; thirteen thousand one

91/100 N6.91) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting prop-
erty for forty foot roadway, there being 1909.53 feet abutting saia
portion of said improvement; seventeen hundred eighty-five and

front or linear foot of abutting property for forty-two foot road-
, way (with single track) , there being 295.10 feet abutting said
portion of said improvement; nineteen hundred eighty-seven (ti1987.00)

of abutting property for forty-two foot wades (with single track an
five foot walk) , there being 293.50 feet abutting said portion of
said improvement; twenty-one hundred nineteen and 63/100 (w2119.63
dollars, or five and 11/100 ( 5.11) dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting property for forty-four foot roadway (with double
track) , there being 414.80 feet abutting said portion of said im-
provement; end fourteen hundred fifty-seven and 63/100 (; 1457.63)
dollars, or six and 41/100 (06.41) dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting; property for forty-four foot roadway (with single
track) , there being 227.40 feet abutting said portion of said •

improvement, within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets
above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost
per front foot of said improvement, according to the contreot
entered into for the performance of said work and making said im-
provement with S. 7. Mellen, Contractor, dated the 6th day of
August, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and direoted
to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, fo
the purpose herein mentioned:

same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shell become due
and payable, end shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent
per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one
or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or
the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any install-
ment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to
said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shell take effect one day after
its first publication.
