AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARAGRAPHS (a) AND (b) of Section
139 of an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah, on the 6th day of March, 1946, and known as Bill
No. 13, relating to sick leaves, vacations and compensation for
employees of Salt Lake City.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That paragraphs (a) and (b) of Section 139
of an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah, on the 6th day of March, 1946, and known as Bill No.
13, relating to sick leaves, vacations and compensation for em-
ployees of Salt Lake City, be and the same are hereby amended to
read as follows:
»(a) As of January 1, 1946, all employees of Salt Lake
City who are employed by the month and who have been so em-
ployed for a period of one year or longer shall be entitled
to a yearly vacation of two weeks, exclusive of legal holidays
except Sundayy,and shall be paid his regular salary during the
two weeks he is on vacation. Said vacation is to be taken as
directed by the head of his department at such time as it would
be most advantageous to the efficient operation of that depart-
ment.

(b) As of January 1, 1946, all employees of Salt Lake City
who are employed by the day or on an hourly basis and who have
been so employed continuously for a period of one year or longer

SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect immediate-
ly.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect at once upon
its first publication.
