An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of' property
on both sides of First South Street between Second West and Third
West Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a
sewer.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described'in Lots Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 66; and in Lots Nos. 1
and 2, Block 79, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both
sides of First South Street between Second West and Third West
Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, said property having a frontage of
1,179.75 feet along said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
♦itrified pipe sewer eight (a) inches in diameter upon said portion
of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to be
especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and
uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be as-
sessed Upon said parcels of land is one thousand five hundred thirty-
three and 68/100 (01,533.68) dollars, or one and 30/100 ($1.30) dol-
lars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and
estimated cost per front foot of said sewer, and the Treasurer is
hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the pro-
visions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, all of
Lots 5, 6, 7 ;;nd 8, Block 66; and all of Lot 1, and the east 189.75
feet of Lot 2, Block 79, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the
same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of

twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said
tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six
equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be-
come and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nance; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three
years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after
such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro-
val. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall
draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of
levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax
shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and
after its date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
