Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Title 46, Article 19, Section 280 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the penalty imposed upon a person violating any provision of the Salt Lake City Traffic Code, be, and the same hereby is amended to read as follows: "Sec. 280. Penalty. Any person violating any provision of this code except where another penalty is provided shall be punished by a fine in any sum less than three hundred dollars, or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or both such fine and imprisonment, except that any person violating any of the privisions of Article 8, Article 9, Article 18, Article 21 or Article 22 of this code shall be punished by a fine in any sum less than fifty dollars, or by imprisonment not to exceed thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.' SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
