AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 32-8-4 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to possession of controlled
substances.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 32-8-4 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to possession of controlled substances,
be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 32-8-4. Possession of controlled substances. No
person under the age wortusene anyecontrolled shall ksubstance
and intentionally possess
as such are enumerated in the schedules set forth in Sec-
tion 58-37-4, Utah Code Annotated, 1953, and as such
schedules may be amended hereafter, unless such substance
was obtained pursuant to a valid prescription or order dir-
ectly from a practitioner while acting in the course of his
professional practice."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
5th day of March 1974.
