AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sections 18-2-2(6) and 18-2-3 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to multiple dwelling units
and collection by city from residences.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Title 18 Chapte 2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to multiple dwelling units and collection by
city from residences, bey and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
Sec. 18-2-2(6) Multiple dwelling units. Multiple dwelling
units shall mean four or more: dwelling units designed for
separate housekeeping tenements when such units are 'so
situated as not to constitute an apartment house and when
such units are located on the same lot or tract of land, or
on two or more lots or tracts of land which are connecting
and in one ownership.
Sec. 18-2-3 Collection by city from residences. The board
of city commissioners may provide for the collecting and
disposal at the expense of the city or otherwise of garbage,
community waste, stove ashes, dead animals and other refuse
from residences, but not from places of business, apartment
houses, multiple dwelling units or public buildings. Said
collection shall be under the supervision of the department
of streets and said disposal shall be under the supervision
of the board of health.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, it is necessary to the health, peace and welfare of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 12th
day of March, 1975.
