AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6502 of the Revised Ordi-
nances or Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by an ordinance
passed by the Board of Commissioners on December 12, 1944, and
amending Section 6504 or the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,_
1944,
Utah,Arelating to water supply and waterworks.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners or Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 6502 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by an ordinance passed
by the Board of Commissioners on December 12, 1944, and Section
6504 or the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, re-
lating to water supply and waterworks, be and the same are hereby
amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 6502. APPOINTMENTS. SALARIES. The Board of Commis-
sioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, may appoint a competent
person to the office or superintendent of waterworks, who
shall receive a salary of not to exceed $3900.00 per annum;
and a competent person as assistant superintendent or water-
works, who shall receive a salary of not to exceed $3660.00
per annum, said salaries payable monthly.
The Board.of Commissioners may authorize and require
the city engineer to act as superintendent of water works
without compensation in addition to his salary as such city
engineer.
SEC. 6504. EMPLOYEES. COMPENSATION. The Board of Commis-
or; sioners may appoint and employ in the department of water sup-
ply and water works the following employees, who shall take
and subscribe the constitutional oath of office: one office

supervisor at a salary not to exceed $2940.00 per annum,
who shall berore assuming his duties give a bond in the sum
of $5000.00, conditioned as required by law; and such stenogr.-
ghers, clerks, foremen, mechanics and employees as may be
necessary for the proper conduct of such department at such
compensation and under such conditions as may be determined
and imposed by the board of commissioners.'
