AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 123, 609 and 6603 of the
Revised' Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 123 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944,- relating to administration, es amended
' by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah, on July 11, 1950, be and the same is hereby further
amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 123. BUILDING SUPERINTENDENT, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
SAFETY. There is hereby created the office of building superb
lfa intendant in the department of public safety. The Board of
Cst
Commissioners of Salt Lake City may appoint a competent person
to the office of building superintendent in the department of
public safety who shall receive a salary of not to exceed
$3720.00 per annum, payable semi-monthly, and who shall per-
form such duties as may be prescribed by the commissioner of
the department of public safety."
SECTION 2. That Section 609 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances passed by the
Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 16, 1944,
August 15, 1944, April 3, 1945, and November 16, 1948, relating to
the Board of Health, be and the same is hereby further amended to
read as follows:
"SEC. 609. APPOINTMENTS. The Board of Commissioners may
appoint the following officers, assistants and employees of
the Board of Health, who shall receive annual salaries, pay-
able semi-monthly, not exceeding the amounts as follows:

Either the Chief Sanitarian, Assistant Chief Sanitarian
or the Veterinarian in charge of meat inspection shall be a
veterinarian.
Veterinary inspectors shall be graduates of an approved
veterinary school and competent and qualified as veterinarian ."
SECTION 3. That Section 6603 of the Revised Ordinances o
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by an ordinance passed by
the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 11,
1950, relating to weights and measures and oil inspection, be and
the same is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 6603. SALARIES. The salary of the city sealer of
weights and measures and oil inspection shall be S3780.00 per
annum, payable monthly, and the salaries of the assistants to
the sealer of weights and measures and oil inspection shall b
$3180.00 per annum, payable monthly. The salaries of such
other persons as may be employed to assist the sealer of weights
and measures and oil inspection shall be fixed by the Board
of Commissioners."

SECTION 4. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall become effective imme-
diately.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication. j�
