AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on Jest Temple Street between Ninth oouth end Tenth South streets,
in Paving District No. 33, and in Paving Extension No. 79, for the
the
-purpose of providing for/grading, guttering and curbing with cement,
constructing drainage and irrigation system, and paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the Boardof Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 33,
- roviding for the
for the purpose of/grading, guttering and curbing with cement, con-
structing drainage and irrigation system, and paving thereof, towit:
In lots 9 to 14, inclusive, Block 4, Holland subdivision; 1
to 11, inclusive, Block 1; 1 to 11, inclusive, Block 2; 1 to 5, in-
clusive, Block 3, Wrest BoulYard Subdivision; 20, Block 23; 2 to 11,
inclusive, Block 2; 2 to 11, inclusive, Block 4; 2 to 11, inclusive,
Block 6; and 3 to 1:2 inclusive, Block 8, North Columbia Subdivision;
6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, Block 22, Five Acre Plat "A", Big kield Survey,
abutting on both sides of Jest Temple Street between Ninth South and
Tenth South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering
and curbing with cement, constructing drainage and irrigation system,
and paving with asphalt nine and one-half (9- ) inches thick, roadway
forty-four (44) feet wide between curbs, upon that portion of said
and hereinafter
street opposite the property hereinbefore'described. to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged,
determined and established that said property will be especially
benefited thereby to the hall amount of the tax hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate
in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said
street, fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back
therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said
parcels of land is eighteen thousand two hundred sixty-three and
70/100 (18,263.70) dollars; fifteen thousand six hundred thirty-six
and 18/100 (15,636.18) dollars, or five and 29/100 (5.29) dollars per.

roadway with single track, there being 2955.80 feet abutting said
portion of said improvement; and two thousand six hundred twenty-seven
and 52/100 (2,627.52) dollars, or four and 17/100 (4.17) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for forty-four (44) foot
roadway with double track, there beint 630.10 feet abutting said portion
of said improvement, within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and
street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and
cost per front foot of said improvement,gccording to the contract
entered into for the _,Erformance of said work and making said improve-
ment, with G. A. Heman, dated July 11, 1912, and the 'Treasurer is here-
by authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions
of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

The east side of lots 9 to 14, inclusive, Block 4, Holland
Subdivision, the east side of the south 111.10 feet of lot 20, the
east side of the north 110 feet of lot 20, the east side of lots 1 to
5, inclusive, Block 3, and the east side of lots 1 to 11, inclusive,
Block 1, Wiest Boulevard Subdivision, Block 23; the west side of lots
3 to 12, inclusive, Block 8, the west side of lots 2,to 11, inclusive,
Block 6, and the west side of lots 2 to 7, inclusive, Block 4, North
Columbia Subdivision, the west side of the north 254.10 feet of lot
6, the west side of lots 7 and 8, the west side of the south 254.10 feet
of lot 9, the west side of the north 254.10 feet of lot 10, and the
west side of the south 101 feet of lot 11. Block 22, Five Acre Plat
"A", Big Field Survey;

The east side of lots 1 to 11, inclusive, Block 2, Wiest
Boulevard Subdivision of Block 23; the west side of lots 8 to 11, in-
clusive, Block 4, and the west side of lots 2 to 11, inclusive, Block
2, North Columbia Subdivision of Block 22, Five Acre Plat "A", Big
Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said
city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and
to collect said tax.

SECTTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at
the rate of six per cent. per annum, payable at the time each install-
ment is due, towit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance
confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement
becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after said ordin-
ance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said
ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after
said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in five years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in six years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in seven
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof
in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective, and onetenth
thereof in ton years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or
more installments, ,in the order in which they are payable, or the
whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after
the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without
interest. In the event of any installment, or the interest aforesaid,
not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of
the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are
due, shall become due and .auable, and shall draw interest at the rate
of eight per cent. per annum until the sale of the property assessed;
provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are
payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any
installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest
to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall to_e effect one day after .
its first publication.
