AN ORDINANCE
Result
AN OEDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1802 of the Revised Ordinances
1944,
of Salt Lake City, Utah,Arelating to city engineer.
WHEREAS, the Utah State Law provides that the city engineer
shall be ex-officio engineer of the local Metropolitan Water Dis-
trict and that such district shall reimburse the municipality for
the cost to it of services rendered; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake City
has called upon and will for some time in the future require the
services of the city engineer of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, these duties impose upon the city engineer con-
siderable extra work; and
WHEREAS, because of these services rendered and to be ren-
dered in the future Salt Lake City has incurred and will incur cer-
tain additional salary expenses and costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Commission-
ers of Salt Lake City, Utah;
SECTION 1. That Section 1802 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to city engineer, be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit:
t"Sec. 1802. SALARY. That the city engineer shall receive
a salary of not to exceed $610.00 per month during such peril)
{�{ as he shall perform services for the Metropolitan Water Dis-
trict
of Salt Lake City and the city shall on the first day of
each month bill the said Water District for a sum of not less
than $200.00 for services rendered and costs incurred in its
behalf during the preceding month, and said sums as collected
are to be covered into the city treasury of Salt Lake City.
The principal assistal (;ity engineer shall receive a

salary of not to exceed $3520.00 per annum, payable monthly,
as are the salaries of other city officers.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, healtn and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect immediatel .
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect at once .on
