AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 20-8-8 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to prohibited location of
coin-operated amusement devices.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 20-8-8 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to prohibited location of coin-
operated amusement devices, be, and the same hereby is, amended to
read as follows:
"Sec. 20-8-8. Prohibited location of devices. No
I distributor or proprietor shall set up for operation
ioinor
exhibit for the purpose of operation or play any
I operated amusement device, as herein defined, within
eight hundred feet of the exterior boundaries of any
public elementary, junior high or high shhool.s in Salt
Lake City; provided, however, that the foregoing limita-
tion shall not apply to such coin-operated amusement
devices which do not automatically register free games
or provide free games for continuous play."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it
is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 12th day of March, 1974.
