AN ORDI N A N C B .
An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of
property on both sides of Linden Avenue between Seventh Bast and
(;Eighth Bast Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of
la sewer.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SIOTSON 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Sewer District So. 1, for the construction of a sewer,

to-wit:
In Lots 3, 4, 7 and 8, Block 40, Plat "B", abutting on both aide
'of Linden Avenue between seventh Bast and Eighth last Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a vitri
'fled pipe sewer eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of sal
;street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described
Tito be especially affeoted and benefited by said improvement, and it 1
is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property
will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax
hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
;equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
,upon said portions of said street fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (26) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is nine hundred and thirty-
five ($936.00) dollars, or 76639/100,000 ($0.76639) dollars per front(
for linear foot of abutting property for sewer on said portion of the
(street above mentioned in Sewer District No. 1, there being 1220 feet
'of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, block and
(street above mentioned, which is the total cost and cost per front
(foot of said sewer, according to the contract entered into for the
(performance of said work and making said improvement, with Zerbe &
;Walker, dated the llth day of January, 1909, and the Treasurer is
;hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the pro,;

visions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

7; the north side of the east 306 feet of the south 161 feet of Lot

SECTION E: Said tiZS1 all become and be delinquent in five equ 1
installments, Si 3'ollowste wit: One-fifth thereof;one .year after
the approval oi'the ordi a confirming the levy oi'the tax Or the
jpeyment for snail improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after snob approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or
more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interests
to date of payment. Eaoh of said installments shall bear interest a1
the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval
of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until the date of
delinquency, and eight (8) per cent per annum from d elinquency until
paid.
