Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of pro-
perty in Paving Districts Nos. 32 and 33 (Paving Extension No. 208)
for the purpose of grading, constructing curb and gutter, drainage
and irrigation system, private driveways and paving with Portland
cement concrete thereof Main Street from 9th South Street to Slat
South Street.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Districts
Nos. 32 and 33 (Paving Extension No. 208) for the purpose fof grading,
constructing curb and gutter, drainage and irrigation system, pri-
vate driveways and paving with Portland cement concrete thereof,

This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, con-
structing drainage and irrigation system, curb and gutter, private
driveways, and paving with Portland cement concrete Main Street
'from 9th South Street to 21st South Street, said pavement to be
seventy-two (72) feet wide between curbs from 9th South Street to
17th South Street and sixty (60) feet wide between curbs from 17th
South Street to 21st South Street and seven (7) to nine (9) inches
thick, the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbe-
'fore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and bene-
fited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined
and established that said property will be especially benefited
thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said par-
'eels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in
accordance with the linear foot frontage upon and to the entire
depth back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed
upon said parcels of land is Two Hundred Thousand Thirty-four and
61/100 4200,034.61) Dollars; Sixty Thousand One Hundred SeventO*;' {`) '
four and 11/100 460,174.11) Dollars or Eleven and 25/100 ($i1.25),

Dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sixty
(60) foot roadway, there being 5,348.81 feet abutting said portion
of said improvement; One Hundred Thirty-five Thousand Twenty-four'
and 50/100 ($135,024.50) Dollars or Twelve and 73/100 ($12.73)
'Dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for seventy-
two (72) foot roadway, there being 10,606.795 feet abutting said
'portion of said improvement; Two Thousand Two Hundred Ninety-five '
and 00/100,( 2,295.00) Dollars for private driveways, there being
forty-five driveways at Fifty-one ($51.00) Dollars per driveway;
Two Thousand Five Hundred Forty-one ($2,541.00) Dollars for private
driveways, there being thirty-eight and 5/10ths (38.5) driveways
at Sixty-six ($66.00) Dollars per driveway; the cost of constrao- 1
tion of which driveways and the property benefited thereby is here-

inafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks
and streets above mentioned in said districts, which is the total
abutters' scat and cost per front foot of said improvement, accord-
ing to the oontract entered into for the performance of said work
and making said improvement with Gibbons & Reed Co., Contractors, ,
,dated the 16th day of June, 1927, and the City Treasurer is hereby
authorised and directed to assess, in accordance with the provi-
sions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned;

SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of,
this ordinance in Paving Extension No. 208, of Salt Lnke City, for
' the purpose of grading, constructing curb and gutter, drainage
and irrigation system, private driveways and paving with Portland
cement concrete thereof is hereby confirmed and the assessments
1 made and returned in said completed lists, and the report of the
Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in ten equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with inter-
est on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any in-'
stallment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at 1
I the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due
and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per I
cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its publication.
