Romney • Tedesco Mr.Chairman . . _ __A-N- R ANC Result AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARAGRAPHS (d) AND (e) of Section 3721 of an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Sa4t Lake City, Utah, on the 17th day of December, 1946, and known as bill No. 93, relating to licenses. Be it ordained by the Board of, Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That paragraphs (d) and (e) of Section 3721 of an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on the 17th day of December, 1946, and known as bill No. 93, relating to licenses, be and the same are Hereby amended to read as follows: n(d) Not later than the 15th day of July, 1947, and the 15th day of January, 1948, each person licensed by Salt Lake City tp engage in the business of manufacturing and selling at retail any tangible personal property, or to engage in the business of selling tangible personal property at retail, shall file with the License Assessor and Collector of Salt Lake City a verified statement showing the total gross retail sales made by him during the previous six monthst period, and any persons required herein to file such a verified statement and who fails to file such statement as required shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. (e) All license fees due and payable herein shall be paid to the License Assessor and Collector and shall be deemed de- linquent if not paid as follows: the first payment to be made on or before the 15th day of July, 1947, fir the first semi- annual period of 1947, and the second payment to be made on or before the 15th day of January, 1948, for the second semi-annual . 0 -2- period of 1947. Vthenever any fee required to be paid by this ordinance is not paid on or before the day on which it becomes delinquent, a penalty of ten per cent of the amount due shall be imposed and an additional penalty of five per cent of the original tax shall be added at the close of business on the last day of each calendar month thereafter. Every penalty shall become a part of the fee imposed by this section but in no case, however, shall the total penalty exceed fifty per cent of the original fee." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect immediate- ly. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect at once upon 1 its first publication.
