Result
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE LIMITS OF SALT LAKE CITY.
WHEREAS, on January 31, 1940, Dan S. Gardiner and others,
5(:F (being a majority of the owners of real property situated in the tract
. of land hereinafter described) signed and filed with the City Recorder
of Salt Lake City, Petition No. 82, and on March 20th, 1940, said Dan

•-4 ` Petition No. 247, supplementing Petition No. 82, requesting that said
tract of land be taken within the limits of said city, and also caused
11 an accurate map to be made and certified to by a competent surveyor
and approved by the City Engineer, to be filed with the City Engineer;
and
WHEREAS, the said tract of land is contiguous to Salt Lake
City and there is no proper reason why it should not be annexed to and
made a part of said city; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, after
examining said petitions of said owners of said tract of land, and con-
sidering the circumstances thereof, voted by unanimous vote of said
board in favor of annexing said tract of land to Salt Lake City, and
directed the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance making and declaring
said annexation:
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the city limits,of Salt Lake City be and the
same are hereby extended and enlarged so as to include the following
described tract of land in Salt Lake County, to-wit:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the present
city boundary and the north line of 17th South Street,
198.00 feet N. 89° 591 39" E. and 35.44 feet N. 0° 041
04" W. of the city monument at the intersection of 17th
South and 21st East Streets; thence N. 0° 041 04" W.
along the present city boundary,. 165.00. ft.; thence S.
89° 531 42" E., 2179.49 ft. ithence S. 0° 051 50" W.,

518.56 ft., thence NA 89° 521 00" B., 2178.00 ft.;
thence N. 0° 04' 04" W., 352.49 ft. to the point of
beginning and containing 25.91 acres and located in
Lot 11, Block 5; Lot 12, Block 6; and parts of Lot
11, Block 6, Lots 1 and 2, Block 15, and Lot 2, Block
16, in 5-Acre Plat "C", Big Field Survey of Section
15, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S. L. B. & M.
and that the same has been corrected staked out upon the ground
as shown upon the map.
And it is further ordained and declared that when this
ordinance takes effect the said tract of land above described
shall thenceforth be vithin tAe corporate limits of said Salt Lake
City, and all ordinances, jurisdictions; rises and obligations of
or pertaining to said Salt LakelCity are extended over and made
applicable and pertinent to the said tract of land, and the street.,
blocks, alleys and wt a of said;tract shall: be controlled and
governed by the ordinances, tuIes and regutations' of said city in
)that behalf, and the monuments of the pity Engineer shall thence-
" (forth be taken therein as the standard of locations and distance.
SECTION 2. Upon the passage of this ordinance the City
Recorder of Salt Lake City shall file and she is hereby directed
to file with the County Recorder of Salt Lake County a copy of the
map and plat above mentioned, duly certified and acknowledged as
provided in such cases, together with a certified copy of this
ordinance.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after its first publication.
