AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF TITLE 33 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, AS AMENDED, BY ADDING
NEW SECTION 33-2-16, RELATING TO LOAN OF PERSONAL PROPERTY BY
FIRE DEPARTMENT.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City_, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 2 of Title 33 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, be, and the
same hereby is, amended by adding thereto new Section 33-2-16,
relating to loan of personal property by fire department, as
follows:
Sec. 33-2-16. Loan of personal property by fire
department. Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter to the
contrary, the fire department is authorized to lend items of
personal property belonging to the City when such loan is made
for the purpose of saving or preserving life and/or property in
emergency situations. Whenever practical the fire deparment
shall obtain a signed receipt for and an agreement to return any
item of personal property so loaned.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after
its first publicaton.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 7th day of April , 1981.
