An ordinance regulating billboards, and licensing bill pesters and. distributors. 1 Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful to erect or construct within the corporate limits of Salt Lake City,any sign board or bill board or other structure used or intended to be used for advertising pur— 1 poses, which shall be of a greater height than twelve (12) feet, measured vertically from the grade of the lot whereon the same is erected or constructed, and the same shall not be located nearer than twelve (12) feet from the inside line of any sidewalk. All such sign boards, bill boards or other structures herein mentioned shall be so constructed as to leave an open space of not less than two (2) feet measured from the surface of the ground vertically to the lowest point of said sign boards, bill boards or other structures. SECTION 2. All existing sign hoards, billboards and other 1 structures used or intended to be used for advertising purposes, 401F' which do not conform to the provisions of this ordinance shall be removed or so ,changed and ,,ltered as to conform therewith on or before the .iay of Joy,, 903. If the owner or person having control of such sign board, bill board or other structure not in conformity with the provisions of this ordinance shall fail to I remove or alter the same as in this section provided, he shall be punished as hereinafter provided; and such sign board, bill board 1 or other structure shall be torn down by the Building; Inspector. SECTION 3.
