Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
property on the south side of Belmont Avenue, both sides of
Williams Avenue and the north side of Herbert Avenue between
2nd and 3rd East Streets and the east side of 2nd East Street
from Belmont to Herbert Avenue, in sidewalk District No. 44,
(Sidewalk Extension No. 220) for the purpose of constructing
concrete sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk
District No. 44, (Sidewalk Extension No. 220), for the purpose of
constructing a concrete sidewalk, to-wit:
In Lots 1 & 34 to 52 inel., Lots 8 to 27 inel.,
and Lots 27 to 34 incl., Blk. 1, and Lots 1 & 34 to 52 inol.,
Lots 8 to 27 incl. and Lots 27 to 34 final., Blk. 2, all
in Harvard Place of Block 21, 5-Acre Plat "A", Big Field
Survey, abutting on the south side of Belmont Avenue, both
sides of Williams Avenue and the north side of Herbert
Avenue between 2nd and 3rd East Streets and the east side
of 2nd East Street from Belmont to Herbert Avenue.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
sidewalk four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches thick, with three
and one-quarter (3i) inch base and three-quarter (i) inch topping,
upon the portions of said streets opposite the property herein-
before and hereinafter described to be especially affected and
benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, deter-
mined and established that said property will be especially bene-
fited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said por-
tions of said streets, fronting upon and to the entire depth back
(therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said
paroale of land is Four Thousand Three Hundred Thirty-one and
:98/100 ($4,331.98) Dollars, or One and 336/1000 ($1.336) Dollars
per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 3242.5
feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, block,
and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total
abutters' post and cost per front foot of said sidewalk, according
Ito the contract entered into for the performance of said work and
aking said improvement with J. L. Griffith Company, dated the
13th day of March, 1924, and the City Treasurer is hereby author-
limed and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of
this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

side of Lots 8 to 27 inol., and the west side of Lots 27 to $4
incl., of Blk. 1; the north side of Lots 1 & 34 to 52 incl., the
south side of Lots 8 to 27 incl., and the west side of Lots 27 to
inel., of Blk. 2; of Harvard Place, of Blk. 21, 5 Acre Plat "A",

-aid city to the entire depth of said parcels of land and to col-
lect said tax.
SECTION 2. That the Assessment list made by the City
treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
qualisation and Review of the property described in Section I of

220) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a side-
walk upon said portion of said streets, is hereby confirmed, and
the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and
the report of the Board of Squalization and Rev&ew to the Board o
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved
and confirmed.
SECTION 3. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time paid installment and interest are due, shall become due
and payable, ana shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per
cant per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its first publication.
