AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sec. 114 of the Traffic Code of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended by Bill No. 4 of 1959, relating to driving a motor vehicle without a valid license. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Sec. 114 of the Traffic Code of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended by Bill No. 4 of 1959, relating to driving a motor vehicle without a valid license, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 114. Driver's License. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a motor vehicle upon the streets of Salt Lake City unless such person has in his immediate possession a valid operator's license or chauffeur's license issued by the State of Utah or by his home state or country, if such operator's license or chauffeur's license is required of such person under the laws of his home state or country, and displays the same upon demand of a police officer of this city; provided, however, that it shall be a defense to any charge under this subsection that the person so charged produce in court an operator's or chauffeur's license as above required thereto- fore issued to such person and valid at the time of his arrest. "(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a motor vehicle upon the streets of Salt Lake City in any manner in violation of the restrictions imposed in a restricted operator's license or chauffeur's license granted to him by the State of Utah or by his home state or country." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is neces- sary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
