RESULT
An ordinance levying a, tax and for the assessment of property
in the territory included between the center line of Fifth South
Street and the center line of Ninth South Street, and from the.
east property line of Ninth East Street to the Reservation, in
Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No.
1, for the construction of sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 5 and 6, Block 12; 19, Sunset View Subdivision of
Block 12; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 13; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7
Block 14; 1 to 18, inclusive, Douglas Place Subdivision of Block
12, Plat "F"; 5 and 6, Block 14; 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 28, Plat
"B"; 20 to 38, inclusive, Block 7, Arlington Heights Subdivision
of Block 5; commencing at the southeast corner of Lot 38, Block 7,
Arlington Heights Subdivision of Block 5, Plat "F", thence south
165 feet; end in Lots 1 to 22, inclusive, Block 8, Arlington Heigh s
Subdivision of Block 6, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting
on the south side of Sixth South Street between Tenth East and
Eleventh East Streets; on the north side of Sixth South Street be-
tween Tenth East and Twelfth East Streets; on the south side of
Fifth South Street between Ninth East and Twelfth East Streets; on
both sides of Tenth East Street between Fifth South and Sixth Sout
Streets; on the east side of Eleventh East Street between Fifth
South and Sixth South Streets, and between Seventh South and. Eights
South Streets; on the west side of Eleventh East Street be,tween
Seventh South and Eighth South Streets; on the south side of
and
Seventh South Street between Ninth East and Tenth East Streets ion
both sides of Elisabeth Street between Fifth South and Sixth South
Streets.

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
, vitrified pipe sewers eight (8) , ten (10) and twelve (12) inches
in diameter, upon the portions of said streets opposite the prop-
erty hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby ad-
judged, determined and established that said property will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal
and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon
said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied
and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is ten thousand six
hundred and 42/100 (5Y10,600.42) dollars; eight thousand nine hundred
ninety-seven end 37/100 N 8,997.37) dollars, or one and 468/1000
($1.468) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
sewer on side of streets, there being 6129 feet of abutting prop-
erty within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above
mentioned; and one thousand six hundred three and 5/100 0l,603.05)
dollars, or 754/1000 ( 0.734) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for sewer in center of streets, there being
2184 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, .
blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the
total cost and cost per front foot of said sewers, according to
the contract entered into for the performance of said work and
making said improvement, with Ileuser & Sim, dated the 10th day of
August, 1912, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed
to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance,
for the purpose herein mentioned:

The west 140 greet of the north side of Lot 6, Block 12; the
north side of Lot 19, Sunset View Subdivision of Block 12; the
east 305 feet of t].e north side of Lot 5, Block 12; the east 140
foot of the north side of Lot 5, the north side of Lots 6 and 7,
the west 140 feet of the north side of Lot 8, the west 140 feet of
the south side of Lot 1, the south side of Lots 2 and 3, the east
140 feet of the south side of Lot 4, the west side of Lots 4 and 5,
' Block 13; the east 305 feet of the north side of Lot 5, the west
305 feet of the north side of Lot 6, Block 14; the west 22 feet o
the south side of Lot 1, the south side of Lots 2 to 11, inolr_sive,
Douglas Place Subdivision of Block 14; the east 272 feet of the
west 297 feet of the south side of Lot 2, the south 125 feet of
the west aide of Lot 2, the north 28 feet of the west side of Lot 2,
the west side of Lots 3, 4 and 5, Block 14, Plat "F"; the east 305
feet of the north side of Lot 5, the west 305 feet of the north
side of Lot 6, Block 14; the east 305 feet of'the north ciao of
Lot 5, the west 305 feet of the north side of Lot 6, the east ..ids
of Lots 6, 7 and. 8, the south 155 feet of the east side of Lot 1,
Block 28, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey.
Sewer in Center of Streets.
The east side of Lots 20 to 38; inclusive, Block 7, Arlington
Heights Subdivision of Block 5; commencing at the southeast corne
of Lot 38, Block 7, Arlington Heights Subdivision of Block 5, Pla
"F", thence south 165 feet; the west side of Lots 1 to 22, inclu-
sive, of Block 8, Arlington Heights Subdivision of Block 6; the
east side of the west 297 feet of Lots 3 and 4, the north 28 feet
of the east side of the west 297 feet of Lot 2, the north 100 fee'
of the south 125 feet of the east side of the west 297 feet of Lou
2, Block 14; the north 100 feet of the west side of Lot 11, the
west side of Lots 12 to 18, inclusive, Douglas _'lace Subdivision

of Block 14; the west side of the east 280.5 feet of Lot 7, the
south 33 feet of the west side of the east 280.5 feet of Lot 6,
Block 14, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown
upon the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five (251
feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shell become and be delix}quent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on .the whole sure unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annurq, payable at the time each
installment is due, to!wit: One-fifth thereof one :year after'the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the pa Ment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof iza two years .a.fte.
said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof: n three ,years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there-
of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or
more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable,
or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty
days after the .ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes
effective,. without interest. In the event of any installment or
the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes
due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid et the time said
installment and interest are due, shell become due and payable,
and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum,
until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more in-
stallments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole
special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment become
due, by )aying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
