Al ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
property on Quince Street between Second North and :Fourth North
Streets, in Paving Districts Nos. 28 and 30, and in Paving Exten-
sion No. 87, for the purpose of providing for grading, guttering
and curbing with cement, constructing' drainage system, and paving
thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah;
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving
Districts Nos. 28 and 30, for the purpose of providing for the
grading, guttc_r`_ng nd curbing .-iji_ o,a,ent, constructing drainage
system, and paving thereof, towit;
In lots 3, 4, 6 and 7, Block 14; 3 and 4, Block 16; 1, 6, 7
and 8, Block 22; 2 and 3, Block 21, Plat "E"; 2 to 5, inclusive,
Block 113, Plot "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both
sides of Quince Street, between Second North and Fourth North
Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, gutter
ing and. curbing with cement, constructing drainage system, and
pavingwith concrete (said concrete pavement to be twenty-four (21)
feet wide beteen curbs, and seven (7) inches thick) 'wuince Stree
from the North line of Second North to Third North Street; andpa -
ing with concrete (said concrete pavement to be thirty (30)
feet wide between curbs and seven (7) inches thick,) said c;uince
Street from Third North Street to the south line of Fourth North
Street; and laying cement sidewalk four (4) feet wide and four
(4) inches thick, upon that portion of se..id street opposite the
property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement; and it is hereby
adjudged, determined and established that said property will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax here-
by levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an

equal and uniform rate in accordance. with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said street, fronting upon and to a depth
of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied
seven hundred
and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is eight thousand
thirty-two and 3/100 N8,732.03) dollars; one thousand two hundred
eleven and 35/100 (N1,211.35) dollars, or two and 72/100 ( 2.72)
dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for twenty-
four (24) foot roadway without sidewalks 1there being 445.35 feet
abutting said portion of said improvement, Three thousand four •
hundred thirty-nine and 83/100 (y3,439.83) dollars, or three and
17/100 ( 3.17) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting proper
ty for twenty-four (24) foot roadway with sidewalks,ihere being
1085.12 feet abutting said portion of said improvement, and four
thousand eighty and 85/100 ( 4,080.85) dollars, or three and 61/10
( 3.61) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
thirty (30) foot roadway with sidewalks, there being 1130.43 feet
abutting said improvement, within the boundaries of the lots, blocks
and street above mentioned in said districts,- which is the total
cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the
contract entered into for the performance of said work and making
said improvement, with G. L. _iema.n, dated July 23, 1913, and the
Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accord-
ance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein
rnent ioned:
24-foot roadway without Sidewalks.
The west side of Lots 3, 4, 6 and 7, Block 14, Plat "E",
Salt Lake City Survey;
24-foot Roadway with Sidewalks.
The east side of lots 2 to 5, inclusive, Block 113, Plat
"A"; the west side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 16, the east side of the
south 64.62 feet of Lot 1, Block 22, Plat "E", Salt Lake City
Survey;
30-foot Roadway with Sidewalks.
The west side of Lots 2 and 3, Block 21, the East side of

the north 100.38 feet of Lot 1, the east side of Lots 6 and 8, and!
the east side of the south 140 feet of Lot 7, Block 22, Plat "E",
Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats
of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said
street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum payable at the time each in-
stallment is due, towit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
im_oroveioent becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years afte
said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in,
five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-
tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effective;
one-tenth thereof in ei#ht years after said ordinance becomes
effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance
becomes efective, and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said •
ordinance becomes effective. One or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may
be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirn-
ing the levy of the tam becomes effective, without interest. In
the event of any installment, or the interest aforesaid, not bei
raid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the
special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are
due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the
rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property
assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which
they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on
the day any installment becomes due, by paying 'the amount thereof
and interest to said date.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
