AN ORDINANCE VACATING ALLEY RUNNING WEST FROM 17th East
Street between Hillcrest Avenue and Stratford Avenue.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
T City, Utah:

Z, SECTION 1. That alley running west from 17th East Street

between Hillcrest Avenue and Stratford Avenue, and more particularly
t described as follows:

Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 660, Highland Park
Plat "A", Section 21, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S.
L. B. & M., thence
South 12.0 ft. to the Northeast corner of Lot 661, said High-
land Park Plat t"A"", thence West 120.0 ft., thence North 17.0
ft., thence S. 45° E. 7.07 ft., thence East 115.0 ft. to point
of beginning;
be and the same as hereby vacated and declared no longer to be public
property for use as a street, avenue, alley or pedestrian way.
Said vacation is made expressly subject to the rights'.of
way and.easements of the Utah Light & Traction Company and the Moun-
tain States Telephone & Telegraph Company acquired under franchises
from Salt.Lake City, to maintain, repair, alter and replace the elec-
tric transmission, distribution of telegraph and telephone circuits,
lines, wires and poles of said companies, together with the necessary
stop crossarms and other attachments thereon or affixed thereto for
the support of said electric, telephone and telegraph lines, wires
and distribution circuits as now erected and maintained upon or across
the portion of said street to be closed, during the life of the fran-
3 chises held by said companies, or any extensions thereof. 3
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
